About Me

My photo
Hi, my name is Terri. My grandmothers taught me how to crochet and embroider on dish towels when I was a little girl, and that started my love of crafting. Over the years I tried different things but my favorite is still stamping and card making. And what makes it better now is that my 2 sisters like it also!! It's fun when we can get together and make cards!! I love learning new ideas and techniques and give hope to others to step out of their comfort zone and try a few new things. Thanks so much for stopping by....follow along if you'd like and see what we can create!!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 396

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #396 - Cats

This is my first time entering a challenge at Cupcake Inspirations, and I was excited to find this challenge, as I am a cat lover!  There are so many cute cards by the design team and guest designers....I simply couldn't pass it up!  My image and sentiment are from Close to My Heart, and the base card and designer paper are from Fun Stampers Journey.  I thought the designer paper was perfect for this challenge!!  I colored the images with Copic markers and used a few sequins as embellishments. Thank you for stopping by - have a wonderful day!

PIP Challenge 1709

Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenge 1709

YAY!  It's another PIP Challenge.....our theme is "Anything Goes" and this week we are sponsored by Di's Digis!  You really need to check out this site, as there are so many adorable images!!  It was very hard choosing which one to use!

I decided on this sweet "Umbrella Friends" image and colored it with Copic markers.  I die cut the image and popped it up on a polka dotted piece of paper, which was then layered on a teal piece of cardstock.  My sentiment is from Fun Stampers Journey.  I added a few sequins for accent.

Thank you for stopping by - be sure to check out the other Design Team Members' cards and enter yours in our challenge!!  Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 331

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 331

Welcome to Tuesday Throwdown Challenge, where these week we are sponsored by Power Poppy.  Our theme this week is "favorite embellishment".  I have to admit, it was a little difficult for me to choose which embellishment is my favorite...there are so many wonderful ones, and I love them all!!  So I narrowed it down to 2.....ribbon and pearls/gem stones.  These 2 really are my "go to" embellishments for most of my cards.

I used Copic markers to color my image, and then used a technique called "Cracked Glass".  I inked my entire image with a VersaMark ink pad and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I did this 2 or 3 more times, making layers of clear embossing, and then put my image in the freezer for 5 minutes.  When I took it out of the freezer, I started to bend it, and the layers of embossing cracked just a little.  I continued to bend it until it had lots of little cracks all over.  I took an ink pad of similar color to my background paper and dobbered ink over the entire image, making sure I got ink in the cracks.  After wiping off the excess ink, I was left with an image that looked aged and distressed.  For the sentiment, I heat embossed it with VersaMark ink and clear embossing powder just once.

Thank you so much for stopping by....please be sure to check out all the other Design Team Members' cards this week at our challenge and get your entry in.  We'd love to see what you create!  Have a wonderful day!

PIP Challenge 1707

PIP Challenge 1707
Welcome to this week's PIP Challenge 1707, where "Anything Goes" is the theme.  Our sponsor this week is MHK Designs.  Be sure to visit their site to see all the wonderful images they have!!

I watercolored my image with Tombow markers and a water brush and fussy cut the image out.  I found some colored cardstock in my stash to match and used a Spellbinders embossing folder called Overlapping Circles. Glue dots were used to tack the image down, and I popped up the sentiment with pop dots. My card is going to be sent to a dear friend who is recuperating from a heart attack, and I wish her all the best in her recovery.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and be sure to check out our challenge and get your card entered!  Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 329

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 329 - Heart Strings

Welcome to this week's Tuesday Throwdown challenge where our theme is "Heart Strings"......that means anything with hearts and string or twine.  Our sponsor this week is My Grafico, and we thank them for such beautiful images.....be sure to check out their product line!

I started with a double heart image, printed it on patterned paper and fussy cut it out. I punched a border and sewed the twine around the edges of the top layer.  I also wrapped it around the top layer a few times and tied a bow.  Then I layered this on a darker brown and finally on the base card.  The sentiment is from Door County Rubber Stamps.   My card turned out pretty rustic-looking, which was what I wanted, so I was pleased.  Thank you so much for stopping by - have a wonderful day!
