About Me

My photo
Hi, my name is Terri. My grandmothers taught me how to crochet and embroider on dish towels when I was a little girl, and that started my love of crafting. Over the years I tried different things but my favorite is still stamping and card making. And what makes it better now is that my 2 sisters like it also!! It's fun when we can get together and make cards!! I love learning new ideas and techniques and give hope to others to step out of their comfort zone and try a few new things. Thanks so much for stopping by....follow along if you'd like and see what we can create!!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 300 and Giveaway

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 300 - The Paper Shelter - Fairies and Fantasy

For this challenge I used The Cutest Wizard from this week's sponsor, The Paper Shelter.  Our theme is Fairies and Fantasy!  The image was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Tombow markers and a water brush. I embossed the purple cardstock with a stars and dots embossing folder and layered the green paper on top. I edged the watercolor paper with black ink, then layered it on black cardstock, which was layered on top of the green. I stamped a few whimsical things on the
green paper and added glitter to the crystal ball and the stars in the wizard's robe.

In honor of our 300th challenge, I am offering a surprise gift to one lucky person (chosen at random) who enters the challenge and also leaves me a message on this blog!  I hope it's you!!  Thank you for
stopping by and have a great day!  Remember, you need to enter Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 300 and leave me a message on this blog.  Good Luck!!

MFP Stamps Challenge 26

MFP Stamps Challenge 26 - White

What a great color for a challenge.....I think white cards are so beautiful.  I used one of my favorite embossing folders.....butterflies!!  I embossed two pieces of white paper, then fussy cut out the butterflies from one of them and ran them through the folder again so they would have a pattern on them.  I glued the middles down on top of the other butterflies and bent up each side to make them 3-D. I stamped my sentiment from Mark's Holiday Tags set, then added a pretty white ribbon and bow.
The finishing touch was white pearls on the butterfly bodies.  Thank you so much for stoppingby....have a wonderful day!!

I would like to thank Mark's Finest Papers for the win this week!  I earned the "Enjoy theView" stamp set.

As You Like It Challenge

As You Like It Challenge - Favourite Die & Why

This butterfly die has been on my all-time favorite list since the moment I saw it!! A number of reasons are:  I love butterflies and making butterfly cards, it is very versatile and can be used for many different occasions (birthday, thinking of you, thank you, sympathy, get well, etc.), and it makes a very easy but elegant card!!  We all need those types of cards once in awhile!!  I used a teal colored paper for the die cut image, then placed a shimmery white piece of paper behind it.  I mounted these on white cardstock and stamped my sentiment.  The final touch was a few white pearls on the butterfly bodies.  Thank you for stopping by.....have a wonderful day!

MFP Challenge 25. Twisted Easel Card

MFP Challenge 25 - Twisted Easel Card

This card was definitely a challenge for me.....I couldn't figure out the twist!!  But finally I got it and this is how it turned out.  I used the sunflower set from Mark's and two sayings from it. The flower is colored with Copic markers and both sayings are popped up, the one inside holds open the card. I added a couple little bees and lady bugs for fun!  Thank you for stopping by - have a wonderful day!

I would like to thank Mark's Finest Papers for choosing my entry as the winner of Challenge 25 - Twisted Easel Card.  I earned the "Paper Doll Chuck" stamp set!

Crafting By Design - June Anything Goes Challenge

Crafting By Design - June Anything Goes Challenge

I am a butterfly lover, so this stamp from Northwoods Rubber Stamps was mine the second I saw it!! I stamped it on watercolor paper, then used Tombow markers and a water brush to color it.  I layered it on lavender patterned paper and then again on darker purple cardstock. I added some lavender jewels in the corners and touches of glitter throughout the flowers.  Thanks for stopping by!

MFP Stamps Challenge 24

MFP Stamps Challenge 24 - Grid Technique

This was a super fun challenge! I used stamps from Mark's  "Oh Baby"  set.  First I stamped the rubber ducks and bubbles and colored them with Copic markers. Next I drew my grid lines and colored in a few of the boxes with Copics. Then I stamped my word stamp in a few places, and finally started doodling in a few of the boxes.  I added just a touch of glitter to the bubbles for the finishing touch.  Thank you for stopping by....have a great day!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 298

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 298 - Watercolor

I used a stamp from Door County Rubber Stamps.....a sweet little girl with a butterfly.  I watercolored the image with Tombow markers and a water brush. I paper-pieced her dress with a scrap from my stash.  The tape across the bottom and the puffy stars are from our sponsor this week.....Freckled Fawn.  Thank you so much for stopping by.....have a wonderful day!
