About Me

My photo
Hi, my name is Terri. My grandmothers taught me how to crochet and embroider on dish towels when I was a little girl, and that started my love of crafting. Over the years I tried different things but my favorite is still stamping and card making. And what makes it better now is that my 2 sisters like it also!! It's fun when we can get together and make cards!! I love learning new ideas and techniques and give hope to others to step out of their comfort zone and try a few new things. Thanks so much for stopping by....follow along if you'd like and see what we can create!!

MFP Color Challenge 43 - 2

MFP Color Challenge 43 - 2

This was another idea for a card using these colors - I stamped "blobs" of all 3 colors on white cardstock and then stamped a flower silhouette over the top. I used the "Hello" sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers "Lots of Words" stamp set.  I added just a few sequins for the final touch. Don't miss out on the great prizes being offered this week at Mark's Finest Papers Challenges!  Thank you for stopping by - have a wonderful day!

Thank you to MFP Stamp Shop for picking my entry as the winner of this challenge....I earned the stamp set "Pots and Vases".

MFP Color Challenge 43 -1

MFP Color Challenge 43 - 1

I like color challenges, especially when they are colors I don't usually pair up together!  I was able to find all these pieces in my stash and was happy to use them up (and make room for more)!!  The salmon colored layer was already textured, and I ran the navy piece through a Darice embossing folder (Wire Fence). I used a Memory Box die cut for the heart, and the sentiment is from Fun Stampers Journey. Tuesday Throwdown Challenge - October 18, 2016

Welcome to another challenge from Tuesday Throwdown!  This week's sponsor is Doodle Pantry, and our theme is "Festive Pumpkins".  Be sure to check out all the great products at Doodle Panty....I was very impressed with all the cute images they have!!

I decided to use the Pumpkin Birdie digital image on watercolor paper this week, and colored it with Tombow markers and a water pen.  I fussy cut the image out after coloring and popped it up with pop dots on brown paper that I had embossed with a tree folder from Darice.  I added a "Thanks" sentiment and just a few gold embellishments to finish the card.  Thank you so much for stopping by - have a wonderful day!

MFP Tutorial Challenge 42

MFP Tutorial Challenge 42 - Plaid Technique

This was another fun tutorial from Mark's Finest Papers!!  I followed the instructions and then die cut my plaid piece using a Fun Stampers Journey banner die cut.  I positioned the die cut pieces on yellow cardstock, then again on green cardstock to match the inks I used in the tutorial.  I used stamps from Fun Stampers Journey to add the words.  I finished off the banners with candies.  Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!  Be sure to check out all the great entries this week at Mark's Finest Papers challenge 42!!

MFP Challenge 42 - Anything Goes

MFP Challenge 42 - Anything Goes

I used stamps from Northwoods Rubber Stamps this week for my entry.  I stamped and heat embossed the image on Northwoods watercolor paper and colored it with Tombow markers and a water brush.  I fussy cut out the frame and mounted it on dark green cardstock which had a dark berry ribbon wrapped around it and then again onto a metallic embossed background and again onto a dark berry card.  I stamped the sentiment on a lighter green cardstock, heat embossed it and glued it to the dark green cardstock.  I added a few silver nail heads to finish up the card.  Thank you for stopping by - have a wonderful day!  Be sure to check out all the great entries at Mark's Finest Papers Challenge 42 this week!

MFP Saturday Challenge 42

MFP Saturday Challenge 42

I love Inspiration Challenges and was so happy to see another one at Mark's Finest Papers this week!  I stamped this image onto a piece of thin wood veneer.  I colored it with Tombow markers and edged it in a light brown ink.  I layered this piece onto a yellow piece of cardstock.  I offset the piece onto a green embossed paper which was layered onto another piece of yellow cardstock.  It was a very simple card to make but I like how it turned out!  Thank you for stopping by - have a wonderful day.  Be sure to check out all the challenges at Mark's Finest Papers this week - there are some really cool stamp sets up for grabs!!

MFP Challenge 41 Anything Goes

MFP Challenge 41 - Anything Goes

I made this step card by stamping an image from Door County Rubber Stamps onto 200 grain sandpaper and colored her with Tombow markers.  I stamped a few leaves on the sides of the step card and added a sentiment, also from Door County Rubber Stamps, on a separate piece of sandpaper.
I finished off the card with 2 small leaves glued on the front panel.

MFP Saturday Challenge 40 - Faux Metallic Embellishments

MFP Saturday Challenge 41 - Faux Metallic Embellishments

This was another fun challenge from Mark's Finest Papers!  I followed the tutorial with VersaMark ink and copper embossing powder, then stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers' North American Woods stamp set in the hot embossed area.  I used a decorative die cut to cut out the embossed area for my card.  The stamped balloons are from Fun Stampers Journey, colored with Copic markers. I splattered some bronze Journey Silk over the ivory base card to add a little dimension.  I finished off the card with some brown cord tied around the ivory base, which was mounted on a brown base.

MFP Anything Goes Challenge 40

MFP Anything Goes Challenge 40

For this Anything Goes card, I used an embossing folder and a die cut, as well as s stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey.  First I took a top-fold white card and ran it through my Cuttlebug with a die cut to make the curved decorated edge on the front of the card.  Then I took a separate piece of white cardstock and ran it through with a rose/leaf embossing folder.  I glued this piece behind the front of the card so that the die cut part sat on top of it. Then I stamped the flower image from Fun Stampers Journey "Summer Garden" set and colored it with Copic markers. I popped this image up with pop dots on the front of the card and stamped the sentiment above it.

MFP Tutorial Challenge 40

MFP Tutorial Challenge 40 - Vellum Leaves

This was easier than I thought it would be when I first read the tutorial.  Fun, too!!  I followed the tutorial to make my colored vellum leaves. I started with white cardstock and layered a black piece of cardstock on top of that.  I embossed a yellow piece of cardstock with a tree embossing folder from Darice. I glued that down and then placed my vellum leaves as if they were falling off the tree.  I finished up the card with a Happy Birthday stamp from Mark's Finest Papers "Firefighter" stamp set.
Thank you so much for stopping by - be sure to enter this challenge and the others at Mark's Finest Papers.  Have a wonderful day!

Thank you to Mark's Finest Papers for choosing my entry as the winner of the Tutorial Challenge.  I earned the stamp set "Broom Rides".

MFP 40 Saturday Challenge

MFP 40 Saturday Challenge - CAS

Making CAS cards has become easier for me - I used to struggle with them for a long time, because I always wanted to add layers and lots of embellishments!!  For this card, I used one layer only and masked off a circle area.  I used a sponge and a fall orange color to make the background within the masked area.  I used stamps from Mark's Finest Papers "Autumn Splendor" set and stamped the owl in the masked area.  I used part of another stamp from the same set to make some leaves above the owl's head and used colored pencils to color in some fall leave colors.  I finished off the card with the sentiment, also from the "Autumn Splendor" set.

Thank you for stopping by. Be sure to check out all the great entries this week at Mark's Finest Papers Challenge 40 - there are 3 separate challenges you can enter.  Have a wonderful day!
