About Me

My photo
Hi, my name is Terri. My grandmothers taught me how to crochet and embroider on dish towels when I was a little girl, and that started my love of crafting. Over the years I tried different things but my favorite is still stamping and card making. And what makes it better now is that my 2 sisters like it also!! It's fun when we can get together and make cards!! I love learning new ideas and techniques and give hope to others to step out of their comfort zone and try a few new things. Thanks so much for stopping by....follow along if you'd like and see what we can create!!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 357

Welcome to Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #357, where our theme this week is "Add Metal".  Our sponsor is Digital Delights by Louby Loo, and they provided us with "Steampunk Tasha" image to work with.  Be sure to check out all the very cute designs at this week's sponsor.

I have to admit before I started working on this card, I knew NOTHING about steampunk, but I did a little research and learned quite a bit.  While it's not my style, I had a lot of fun making this card!! I think it's fun to step outside your comfort zone once in a while and try something new.  I used a Darice embossing folder with clock faces and inked it up with tan, brown and aqua colors. I colored the image with Copic markers and used die cuts from Wish.com for her and the border. I had these  metal doo dads in my stash, so I added them along with a Memory Box circle pattern die cut out of copper paper. The sentiment from Fun Stampers Journey is stamped on a small tag with a metal eyelet.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Be sure to check out the other design team members' cards at the challenge, and be sure to get your "Add Metal" card linked up for a chance to win!  Have a wonderful day!!

PIP Challenge 1733

Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy!  It's someone's birthday and I bet you can't guess who!!  Yes, Craig had a birthday over the weekend and this is the card I made for him.  It's also Monday, which means it's time for a new PIP Challenge, where the theme is "Anything Goes".  Our sponsor this week is the wonderful MHK Designs.  I fell in love with this Sea Creatures digi set and knew it would be perfect for Craig's birthday card.  Be sure to check out all the great images at MHK Designs.

To make my background I put drops of blue, aqua and citrus green reinkers on a stamping block and spritzed with water.  I laid my paper on top of that to get the initial color on it.  Then I drew some "weeds" with markers and spritzed more water directly on the paper to get the watery look. I dried it with a heat gun.  I stamped a few fish toward the bottom  and then colored my main fish with Copic markers.  I popped them up with pop dots.  I added some "bubbles" with Nuvo Jewel Drops and stamped my sentiment (sorry, I don't remember where it's from) in the top left corner.  To finish it all off, I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers in blue, green and clear all over the water to make it sparkle. Unfortunately it didn't show up well in the picture.  Trust me....it's sparkly!!

Be sure to check out all the cool  cards by the other design team members HERE.  Get your card entered for a chance to win some awesome product from our sponsor!!  Thanks for stopping by - have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 355

It's Tuesday, and you know what that means!!  Another Tuesday Throwdown Challenge!!  This week we are sponsored by Newton's Nook Designs and our theme is "interactive cards".  I made a wiggle card, so if Newton and his cup are touched, he wiggles on a piece of coiled wire.

This was a very fun card to make. I used the wire from a wired ribbon and wrapped approx. 3" of wire around a thin paint brush handle. I punched a hole in two small circles, coiled the wire through them and glued them to another small circle.  After coloring Newton and his cup with Copic markers, I glued one end of the wire piece to that and the other to my base card.  Then I  finished my card with some Fun Stampers Journey Sparkle Silk and a few sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by - I hope you will check out all of the awesome products at Newton's Nook Designs and the creative cards by the other design team members at the challenge.  Have a wonderful day!

PIP Challenge 1732

Welcome to Monday and another PIP Challenge!!  This week we are sponsored by Fabrika Fantasy and our theme is "Anything Goes".  This is my first time using a Fabrika Fantasy image, and I was amazed at the selection they have - be sure to check them out!!   I chose this Frolicking Possums image and made an "I Love You" card.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and used a die cut  (sorry, I can't remember where from). The small hearts stamp is from Judith.  All this was layered on a light blue piece of card stock from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please be sure to check out the other design team members' cards at the challenge.......I'm looking forward to seeing your entry there!!  Have a wonderful day!
