About Me

My photo
Hi, my name is Terri. My grandmothers taught me how to crochet and embroider on dish towels when I was a little girl, and that started my love of crafting. Over the years I tried different things but my favorite is still stamping and card making. And what makes it better now is that my 2 sisters like it also!! It's fun when we can get together and make cards!! I love learning new ideas and techniques and give hope to others to step out of their comfort zone and try a few new things. Thanks so much for stopping by....follow along if you'd like and see what we can create!!

PIP Challenge 1733

Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy!  It's someone's birthday and I bet you can't guess who!!  Yes, Craig had a birthday over the weekend and this is the card I made for him.  It's also Monday, which means it's time for a new PIP Challenge, where the theme is "Anything Goes".  Our sponsor this week is the wonderful MHK Designs.  I fell in love with this Sea Creatures digi set and knew it would be perfect for Craig's birthday card.  Be sure to check out all the great images at MHK Designs.

To make my background I put drops of blue, aqua and citrus green reinkers on a stamping block and spritzed with water.  I laid my paper on top of that to get the initial color on it.  Then I drew some "weeds" with markers and spritzed more water directly on the paper to get the watery look. I dried it with a heat gun.  I stamped a few fish toward the bottom  and then colored my main fish with Copic markers.  I popped them up with pop dots.  I added some "bubbles" with Nuvo Jewel Drops and stamped my sentiment (sorry, I don't remember where it's from) in the top left corner.  To finish it all off, I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers in blue, green and clear all over the water to make it sparkle. Unfortunately it didn't show up well in the picture.  Trust me....it's sparkly!!

Be sure to check out all the cool  cards by the other design team members HERE.  Get your card entered for a chance to win some awesome product from our sponsor!!  Thanks for stopping by - have a wonderful day!

  2. How lovely this is, Terri! Pure genius creating the "school" of fish in the deep ocean behind your colorful MHK fish! And the watercolory loveliness of your creation is entirely reminiscent of the layers found within a pond, lake or ocean - Really gorgeous with the extra little sparkles - just like real water with the sun glistening through it! hugs, de
